A Hunger Games Birthday Party: Kid Friendly of Course

With the The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2 premier on the horizon it only seems fitting that I finally blog a few details of my oldest daughters Hunger Games themed birthday party!

Yes she chose the theme.

Yes I love her even more for her awesome taste in movies.

The party concluded with our own Hunger Games Nerf War with targets, extra nerf bullets, obstacles, and plenty of tributes from the surrounding Districts neighborhoods. The photos of the games were not posted to protect the innocent. :)

Enjoy the inspiration, we will now be counting down the days until we see the final movie! Can't wait!

Katniss Everdeen inspired my kid and my kid inspired me.

Now that the Mockingjay Madness is once again arising for the final installment of the beloved Hunger Games series, I decided its about dang time that I blog one of my most favorite sessions to date.

Well....maybe I'm a little biased because this little Katniss Everdeen happens to be my little lady! She admires the strength of Katniss and very adamantly requested a Hunger Games themed 5th birthday party. What kind of mom would I be to say no?? I get sick of the pink princess birthday decorations so this was an exciting theme to chase after!

So off on a woodsy jaunt we went with a homemade bow and arrow in hand, side braid, and trusty mockingjay pin displayed proudly on her jacket.

I love my kid so very much, her and her little sister inspire me to no end. Enjoy!
